Gummy Cocktails: 10 Drinks to Garnish With Cocktail Gummies
A gummy cocktail is a drink finished with gummy candy: on a pick across the rim, perched on the edge of the glass, or dropped into something sparkling just before it is served. The trick is matching the candy to the drink, so the garnish tastes like it belongs there. Below are ten classic cocktails, each paired with one Vesper Bites flavour, and each with a zero-proof version. Our gummies contain no alcohol at all, so the same garnish works whether the glass holds rum or soda water.
How to garnish a drink with gummies
Four methods cover almost every drink on this list.
- On a pick. Thread two or three gummies onto a cocktail pick and rest it across the rim. They stay out of the drink, so they stay chewy, and the guest decides when to eat them.
- On the rim. Cut a small notch in the bottom of a gummy with a paring knife and press it onto the edge of the glass, the way you would a citrus wedge. This works best on coupes and flutes.
- In the glass. Save this for sparkling drinks, and add the gummies right as you pour. Any garnish that sits in a drink for long goes soft, so a gummy in the glass is a garnish for drinking now, not for leaving on the bar.
- On the side. A small dish of gummies next to the glass lets people pick their own. At a party this is the easiest option by far, and nobody has to agree on a flavour.

10 gummy cocktails, each with a zero-proof version
1. Bellini with Peach Bellini hearts
Pour 2 oz (60 ml) of chilled white peach purée into a flute and top slowly with 4 oz (120 ml) of cold prosecco. Stir once, gently. Notch a Peach Bellini gummy and set it on the rim. The gummies are heart-shaped, which does most of the decorating for you, and they bring juicy peach with a balanced sweet finish.
Zero-proof: top the purée with alcohol-free sparkling wine or sparkling white grape juice instead.
2. Prosecco with Prosecco Bears
The simplest drink on the list, and the most photogenic. Pour 5 oz (150 ml) of prosecco into a flute and drop in three or four Prosecco Bears as you serve it. The bears taste crisp and effervescent, so they fit the glass they are sitting in.
Zero-proof: alcohol-free sparkling wine, or a dry sparkling lemonade if you want something less sweet.
3. Strawberry daiquiri with Strawberry Daiquiri gummies
Blend 2 oz (60 ml) white rum, 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lime juice, 3/4 oz (22 ml) simple syrup, five or six hulled strawberries and a cup of ice until smooth. Pour into a chilled coupe and lay a pick of Strawberry Daiquiri gummies across the top. They carry juicy strawberry sweetness, which is exactly what a strawberry daiquiri tastes like at its best. (You may know them as Berry Daiquiri, the name they went by until September 2026. Same gummy.)
Zero-proof: leave out the rum and add a splash of soda water to the blender so it still pours.
4. Pina colada with Pina Colada gummies
Blend 2 oz (60 ml) white rum, 1.5 oz (45 ml) coconut cream and 3 oz (90 ml) pineapple juice with a cup of ice. Serve in a tall glass with a pineapple wedge and a pick of Pina Colada gummies: juicy pineapple and creamy coconut, the whole drink in one chew.
Zero-proof: skip the rum and add another ounce of pineapple juice. It is already most of the way to a dessert.
5. Paloma with Paloma Hearts
Salt half the rim of a highball glass. Fill it with ice, add 2 oz (60 ml) blanco tequila and 1/2 oz (15 ml) fresh lime juice, and top with 4 oz (120 ml) grapefruit soda. Finish with Paloma Hearts on a pick. They are grapefruit hearts made with real fruit juice, tangy-sweet, and they sit well against the salt. Our guide to the Paloma covers the drink in more detail.
Zero-proof: grapefruit soda, lime and the salted rim, no tequila. It is a better drink than it has any right to be.
6. Cosmopolitan with Cosmo Bears
Shake 1.5 oz (45 ml) citrus vodka, 1 oz (30 ml) orange liqueur, 1 oz (30 ml) cranberry juice and 1/2 oz (15 ml) lime juice with ice, then strain into a chilled coupe. Rest two Cosmo Bears on a pick across the rim. The bears are bright lime and tart blackcurrant rather than cranberry, so they add a darker berry note beside the drink instead of repeating it.
Zero-proof: shake cranberry juice, lime juice and a splash of orange juice with ice and strain the same way.
7. Lemon drop with Lemon Drop gummies
Sugar the rim of a coupe. Shake 2 oz (60 ml) vodka, 3/4 oz (22 ml) orange liqueur, 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lemon juice and 1/2 oz (15 ml) simple syrup with ice and strain. Notch a Lemon Drop gummy onto the rim opposite the sugar. Bold citrus tartness with a touch of sweetness: the same balance the drink is going for.
Zero-proof: shake 1.5 oz (45 ml) lemon juice with 1 oz (30 ml) simple syrup, strain over ice and top with soda water. Keep the sugar rim.
8. Cherry fizz with Cherry Fizz gummies
Shake 2 oz (60 ml) gin, 3/4 oz (22 ml) lemon juice and 1/2 oz (15 ml) cherry syrup with ice. Strain into a highball over fresh ice and top with soda water. Drop in two Cherry Fizz gummies as you serve: ripe cherry sweetness with a lively sparkling fizz, in a drink that is also cherry and also fizzy.
Zero-proof: cherry syrup, lemon juice and soda water over ice. Kids will ask for this one, and for once the answer can be yes.
9. Negroni with Negroni gummies
Stir 1 oz (30 ml) gin, 1 oz (30 ml) Campari and 1 oz (30 ml) sweet vermouth with ice, strain over a large cube and add an orange peel. Serve Negroni gummies in a small dish beside the glass rather than in it. Our Negroni gummy balances bright citrus with a subtle bittersweet edge, so it echoes the drink without its full bite: a softer chew between sips of a very bitter drink. For more on serving it this way, see our aperitivo hour at home guide.
Zero-proof: an alcohol-free bitter aperitif over ice, topped with soda water and an orange slice.
10. Amaretto sour with Amaretto Cherries
Shake 1.5 oz (45 ml) amaretto, 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lemon juice and 1/4 oz (7 ml) simple syrup hard with ice, then strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. An amaretto sour usually gets a cocktail cherry. Use an Amaretto Cherries gummy on a pick instead: sweet cherry with a warm, nutty amaretto depth.
Zero-proof: shake 1 oz (30 ml) orgeat syrup with 1 oz (30 ml) lemon juice, strain over ice and top with soda water.
Set up a gummy garnish bar
If you are hosting, skip the individual garnishes and put out small bowls of three or four flavours next to the drinks, with a cup of cocktail picks. Guests build their own, and the bowls double as snacks. The Happy Hour gift box holds Cosmo Bears, Lemon Drop and Peach Bellini, which covers drinks 1, 6 and 7 above. The Cheers! box holds Cherry Fizz, Negroni and Lemon Drop, which covers 7, 8 and 9. Each box of gummies is $7.99, and every gift box is $24.99 with three flavour boxes inside. For a fuller spread, our post on building a candy charcuterie board for cocktail night shows how far the idea goes.
A mixed crowd is where this works best. Because the gummies are alcohol-free, the same bowl serves the person drinking a Negroni and the person drinking soda water, and nobody gets a lesser garnish. If you are new to the category, what cocktail gummies are explains how they differ from alcohol-infused candy. And if you want the drinks handled as well, our sibling brand Vesper Cocktails makes cocktail infusion kits.
Gummy cocktail FAQ
Can you put gummies in a cocktail?
Yes. For most drinks, put them on a pick across the rim or notch one onto the edge of the glass, so they stay out of the liquid and stay chewy. In sparkling drinks you can drop them straight in, as long as you add them right as you serve.
Do Vesper Bites gummies contain alcohol?
No. Vesper Bites are 100% alcohol-free. The cocktail flavours come from spirit extracts and botanicals, so the gummies work as a garnish in a cocktail or a zero-proof drink.
What are the best gummies for gummy cocktails?
Match the gummy to the drink: Prosecco Bears in prosecco, Strawberry Daiquiri gummies on a strawberry daiquiri, Paloma Hearts on a Paloma. For a Negroni, our Negroni gummy brings bright citrus with a subtle bittersweet edge, a gentler echo of the drink.
Are Vesper Bites gluten-free?
Yes, Vesper Bites are gluten-free. They contain gelatin.
How much do Vesper Bites cost?
Each box of gummies is $7.99. Gift boxes are $24.99 and hold three flavour boxes.
